Hayes layup gives Mitty NorCal title, 53-51, over St. Mary's

Sophomore guard Kelli Hayes scored on a layup with 25.9 seconds left to lift Archbishop Mitty (23-5) to a 53-51 win over three-time defending state champions St. Mary's (Stockton) Saturday at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento for the Norther California Regional Division II championship. Hayes converted off a pass from Courtney Lisowski as the Monarchs pulled off the upset over the Rams (30-4), who entered the game as the No. 17 team in the nation (ESPN rankings). [read more]

Hayes leads Mitty to CCS D-II title with 49-48 win over St. Ignatius

Despite battling a deficit for nearly the entire game, the Lady Monarchs (24-5) somehow reversed the tide of the game with three minutes to go and pulled out a win, 49-48, over the Lady Wildcats (25-5) in the CCS Division II championship Friday night at Santa Clara University. [read more]

Mitty girls hold off late rally by JW North, 56-54

Kalyn Simon and Emily Dinger scored 16 points apiece and Archbishop Mitty survived a furious late rally to defeat JW North, 56-54, Friday night at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento to capture the CIF Division II state title. The state title was the fifth for Mitty coach Sue Phillips in nine title game appearances and the first for this group of players. [read more]

The top-seeded Gunn Titans defeated the No. 3 Palo Alto Vikings, 41-39, in a very competitive game Saturday night at Santa Clara University to capture the CCS Division I championship.
